The German group of the Trilateral Commission, formed at the time of the creation of the Trilateral Commission, is based at the German Council on Foreign Relations, Berlin.

Its activities include organizing discussion meetings with the German members of the Trilateral Commission and important policy-makers regularly as well as the publication of Trilateral reports in German translation. In addition, like other national groups, it assists in the preparation of Trilateral reports by facilitating consultations between the authors, members, and other experts and personalities.

Since 1989, the German group has been constituted as a non-profit association registered under German law, the Deutsche Gruppe der Trilateralen Kommission e.V., Berlin.
