On December 1, 1998, the U.S. Group of the Trilateral Commission sponsored
a 25th Anniversary Evening.
The Commission’s Founder and Honorary Chairman, David
Rockefeller, was honored with the creation of the David Rockefeller
International Leadership Award—to be given occasionally to persons
who embody in their outlooks and careers the international leadership which
the Trilateral Commission exists to nurture.
Three individuals were also honored on the evening with the presentation
of the first of these awards. They were:
Zbigniew Brzezinski
Sadako Ogata
and
Peter Sutherland
Tributes to David Rockefeller were given by Georges Berthoin, Shijuro Ogata, Conrad Black and Henry Kissinger at the conclusion of the evening.
