Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Vice President, Boeing

Marc Allen is chief strategy officer and senior vice president of Strategy and Corporate Development at The Boeing Company, the world’s largest aerospace company and one of the largest U.S. exporters. He reports to Boeing President & CEO Dave Calhoun and is responsible for the company’s overarching strategy, including long-term planning, global business and corporate development, and strategic investments, acquisitions and divestitures.

First appointed to Boeing’s Executive Council in 2014, he previously served as president of Embraer Partnership and Group Operations. He was responsible for the strategic partnership’s financial performance, operations, synergies, and growth, leading the business and integration teams, before terminating the partnership in 2020. Before that he served as president of Boeing International, the Executive Council leader for non-U.S. corporate operations and strategy, overseeing 18 regional offices in key markets. He led global growth and productivity initiatives, new business and market development, government affairs, ESG, industrial partnerships and functional support for business unit operations.

Previously, Allen served as president of Boeing Capital Corporation, with financial performance and operational responsibility for Boeing’s wholly-owned customer finance subsidiary. Prior to Boeing Capital, Allen served as vice president of Boeing International and president of Boeing China, responsible for leading the company’s business in China from its Beijing headquarters.

Allen earlier served as Boeing vice president for Global Law Affairs and Boeing International general counsel, leading the company’s international legal practice group from its inception. He was responsible for non-US operations’ legal issues, cross-border trade regulation matters, and international legal policy matters including the US–EU World Trade Organization dispute on aircraft subsidies.

Before Boeing, Allen practiced law in Washington, D.C., litigating complex commercial cases for domestic and international clients. Previous government service includes an appointment as U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy’s law clerk.  He has prior business experience in strategy consulting and start-up leadership.

Allen is an Aspen Institute Henry Crown Fellow and member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He serves on the boards of directors of Procter & Gamble Co. and numerous global organizations, including as chairman of the International Justice Mission, trustee of the Trilateral Commission, and director of the U.S.-China Business Council and U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum.

Allen received his law degree from Yale Law School and his bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Princeton University, majoring in political science with a certificate in economics. A native of Southern California and a certified private pilot, he is married and has four children.
