Co-Founder of Peninsula Capital, Madrid, London; Director of the Board of Mediaset España, Madrid

Borja Prado is co-founder of Peninsula Capital, a private equity firm which invests in Southern Europe and Latin America. He has been appointed Chairman of Mediaset España in 2022. He is also director of the board of Mediaset España and Chairman of the Spanish Group of the Trilateral Commission. From 2009 to 2019, he was Chairman of Endesa, the largest power utility company in the Iberian Peninsula. His professional career began in 1980 in Fomento de Comercio Exterior (Focoex). Between 1989 and 1994, he served as a Vice President of UBS in Spain.  In 1995, he became Director of Rothschild Spain, where he worked for four years.  Between 1999 and 2007, he worked for Lazard as Vice Chairman of the Spanish branch. Since 2007 until the end of 2014, he was Chairman of Mediobanca for Spain and Latin America. Later, he became Chairman of Global Coverage of Mediobanca until the end of 2018. From 2007 to 2009, he served as director of the board of Endesa and Endesa Chile. He was also Vice Chairman of the Latin American power utility company Enersis from 2013 to 2015.  Mr. Prado studied Law at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain). He continued his studies in international relations and foreign trade at New York University and at the Philip Brothers firm.
