Elisabeth Guigou has been President of the Anna Lindh Foundation since 2018. She was Member of the French National Assembly from 1997 until 2017 and Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee after from 2012 until 2017. Prior to this election, she was Vice President of the French National Assembly from 2010 onwards. She was elected for her third five-year term in the French National Assembly in June 2007. Among other responsibilities at the National Assembly, Mrs. Guigou serves as Vice President of the Foreign Affairs Commission. She studied American literature and Economics before entering and graduating from the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (E.N.A.) in Paris. Following a few years at the Treasury and as financial attaché at the French embassy in London, she was appointed Adviser to the French president, François Mitterrand. Between 1990 and 2002, she served in the Governments of Prime Ministers Rocard, Cresson, Beregovoy and Jospin as Minister for European Affairs (1990-1993), Minister of Justice (1997-2000) and Minister of Employment and Solidarity (2000-2002). She was Member of the European Parliament from 1994 to 1997. Since 1994, Elisabeth Guigou is Founding President of Europartner Association.
