Matteo Villa is Research Fellow at the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) in Milan. He is an expert on global and European politics and policies, focusing mainly on migration and economic governance. He provides scholarly expertise and policy recommendations to the G20 (through the T20 Task Force on Forced Migration), the Italian Parliament, and the Mayor of Milan. In 2018, he published a book on the best practices for global cities in governing migration flows and improving integration policies. He is currently working on a second book on the future of migration to Europe, with a special focus on citizens from African countries. Between 2013 and 2016, Matteo coordinated RAstaNEWS, a highly successful 3-year EU-funded project on the reform of the Eurozone economic governance, while in 2014 he was an Expert Modeller and Forecaster for PREDICT, a NATO Allied Command Transformation project on demographic, economic, energy, and socio-political trends to 2035.
