Michael Fuchs is Chairman of the German Group of the Trilateral Commission since 2001 and was European Deputy Chairman of the European Group of the Trilateral Commission from 2010 until 2019. Michael Fuchs was Member of the German Bundestag (CDU/CSU) from 2002 until 2017. From 2009 until 2017, Dr. Fuchs was Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag. He was previously Managing Director of Impex Electronic in Koblenz which he founded in 1980 and is currently Member of the Supervisory Board. Dr. Fuchs joined the German Federation of Young Entrepreneurs (BJU) in 1982; one year later he was elected as a member of the board and in 1987-88 he was elected as its Federal Chairman. Since 1986 he has been Chairman of the Employers Federation of Wholesale Traders in Rhineland-Westphalia. In 1987, Dr. Fuchs became a member of the Executive Committee of the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations (BDA). Since 1992 he is a member of the Presiding Committee of the BDA. From 1992 till 2000, he was President of the National Federation of German Wholesale and Foreign Trade (BGA) in Bonn and Berlin as well as Vice President of the Federation of European Wholesale and International Trade Associations (FEWITA) in Brussels. In the years 1999 till 2001, Dr. Fuchs was the first President of the newly founded Federation of German Trade Associations (BDH). Dr. Fuchs is a member of numerous company boards as well as of the board of the Ludwig-Erhard-Foundation. Dr. Fuchs got his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Studies in 1976.
