Wayne Safro is a Managing Director in UBS’s Private Wealth Management division where he works closely with UBS hedge fund coverage groups and the investment bank. Before joining UBS, Wayne was a managing director at Merrill Lynch and Woodbine, a global macro hedge fund. Prior to his career in finance, Wayne’s background was in law, journalism and African wildlife conservation. He has published several award winning papers on topics that include environmental economics and political aff airs for research institutions in the US and Africa. Wayne graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin and subsequently earned his J.D. in 1994 at Northwestern University School of Law, where he was elected student government president. Wayne is a member of the Trilateral Commission and the Explorers Club.
